My first feeling was this post was insensitive. But I think, you're also being honest that no tragedy is tragic enough to be beyond a bit of humor/word play, especially, if it does not affect ourselves. Am not being holier-than-thou. I actually do not expect others to show sympathy or not laugh at me in times of my tragedy.
But that incident had affected me for reasons different than loss of human lives. The absolute insanity, and unreliability of human thought-process it stood for, which is what affected me a lot.
Being an organism other than human, you must have laughed. But I had become afraid, because even at that point, to an extent, now, I do feel I hold some stakes in the welfare of human species. I know, it is also a kind of grand communalism to think of welfare of humans, but then I've not been able to get out of that feeling completely. I try, but am not able to become like--'to hell with humans. let the buggers do whatever they want'.
I hope you would be able to see connection between my comment here, and so many other things, including the assumptions I might have made about you.
Nice pun, I must say. Had the context been something else, that is the only comment you would have got. :)
